People often use these mats for gymnastics, martial arts, and other fitness activities because they are soft and keep people from getting hurt while they work out. Even if you use it a lot, the strong design makes sure it will work well for a long time. There are also folding mats in different sizes and thicknesses to meet different training needs and preferences.
Types of Gymnasium Mats
Folding Gymnastics Mat
Folding gymnastics mats are useful and easy to move and store. They are made of high-quality foam that makes them safe and comfortable for a wide range of exercises and training routines. The folding feature makes it easy for people to set up the mat and put it away when they're done. This makes them great for places with limited storage space. People often use these mats for gymnastics, martial arts, and general fitness activities because they provide good cushioning that lowers the risk of getting hurt while practicing. The sturdy design makes sure that it will work well for a long time, even with regular use. There are also folding mats in different sizes and thicknesses to meet different training needs and preferences.
Non-Folding Gymnastics Mat
Non-folding gymnastics mats have a smooth, continuous surface that stays stable and supportive during workouts. These mats are great for activities like tumbling, stretching, and floor exercises that need a flat surface with no creases or folds. Non-folding mats are made of strong foam and a tough outer covering so they can handle heavy use in schools, gyms, and training centers. These mats are great for floor exercises, tumbling, and stretching that need a flat surface with no bumps or creases. Because it doesn't have any folds, the mat stays flat and safe on the floor. This makes it less likely that someone will slip or trip while using it.
Safety Landing Mat
Safety landing mats are made to take the most impact and keep you safe while you practice your skills and do high-intensity activities. These mats are made of thick, high-density foam that keeps people from falling and makes it less likely that they will get hurt. Safety landing mats are very important for practicing advanced techniques and routines that involve jumping or falling from a height. They are often used in gymnastics, cheerleading, and martial arts. They come in different thicknesses, usually between 4 and 12 inches, to protect against impacts at different levels. The mat's surface is strong and won't slip, so it stays in place while you use it, making it a safe and stable landing area. Safety landing mats are a must-have for any training facility that cares about the safety and performance of its athletes.

Classic Extra Soft
Classic Extra Soft foam is thick and soft, and it is often used in safety and crash mats for landings that are very hard. It comes in thicknesses of 4, 8, or 12 inches and absorbs a lot of shock when you fall from a height, like at the end of a tumbling track or during gymnastics training. This foam helps keep people from getting hurt by giving them a slow, controlled place to land. It doesn't work well for active push-off or stable footing, but it's great for protective environments. Classic foam is great for training in places where people fall a lot or are at high risk of falling. Its softness makes it comfortable and helps keep you from getting hurt.
Medium Firm
Foam that is medium-firm is not too soft or too hard. It provides safe, supportive cushioning for activities with moderate impact, like cheerleading, intermediate gymnastics, or wall padding. It meets ASTM F2440 standards for impact resistance, so sports facilities can trust it. This foam makes it less likely that you'll get hurt while still giving you enough support to help you do your tricks. You can get it in both regular and flame-resistant (ASTM E-84-08a compliant) versions. Medium-firm foam is what athletes use when they need something that is both soft and strong. People also like it for gym mats that can be used for more than one thing.
Flex Firm
Flex Firm foam is softer than Extra Firm foam. It provides a moderate amount of cushioning and absorbs shock at a low to moderate level. It is made for low-impact activities like beginner gymnastics or exercise mats at home. This foam helps absorb light impacts and makes things more comfortable without being too soft or wobbly. Sometimes, other densities are added to Flex Firm foam to make it work better and feel better overall. It is not good for high-impact landings, but it is great for beginners and for building basic skills. A lot of the time, teachers use it with young kids.
Safety Foam (IFD 50 and ASTM E-84-08a)
The IFD 50 foam has an Indentation Force Deflection (IFD) rating of 50, which tells you how hard it is. Foam with an IFD rating of 50 is medium-firm, which means it supports you well while still being comfortable. ASTM International created the standard test method ASTM E-84-08a to find out how foam products and other building materials burn on the surface. We put a foam that meets ASTM E-84-08a through some tests to see how fast flames spread and how much smoke it makes. This mix makes a mat that is both hard and soft, which is great for people who are just starting out or for gymnasts who are learning new moves. It keeps you from hitting the ground too hard while still absorbing shock for things that aren't too hard. Teachers, gymnasts, and martial artists often use mats with this kind of foam. The two layers make athletes feel safe while they work out and put less stress on their joints. It can be used for a lot of different things by people of all skill levels.
Combo Soft Firm Foam
Combo Soft Firm Foam is a type of foam that is made up of two layers: one of extra-firm foam and one of softer Flex-Firm foam. This mix makes a mat that is both firm and soft, making it perfect for beginners or gymnasts who are learning new skills. It helps keep you from bottoming out while still absorbing shock for activities with medium impact. This kind of foam is common in mats for gymnastics, martial arts, and teachers. The two-layer design makes athletes feel safe while they train and puts less stress on their joints. It can be used by people of all skill levels and for a variety of purposes.
Extra Firm
Extra Firm foam is very thick and gives the most bounce and support. This makes it great for sports with a lot of impact, like advanced gymnastics, martial arts, and cheerleading. It gives you a stable landing surface that won't sink, so you can feel safe and confident as you move around. It is often laminated to Flex-Firm to make it last longer and be more shock-resistant. Extra firm foam keeps you from hitting the ground and is used in mats and training tools that are good enough for competition. Because it is so firm, it is very helpful for athletes who need to stick landings from vaults or balance beams.
Soft Firm
Soft Firm foam has a little bit of structure and a lot of cushioning, so it's softer than Medium Firm but not as firm as Flex Firm. It is helpful for low-impact activities where comfort is more important than bounce or rebound. You can use this foam in casual fitness mats or areas for stretching. Because it is soft, it is not as good for advanced sports, but it is great for general physical wellness routines. Soft firm foam cushions the weight of the body without making it feel like it's sinking. It works well in places where protecting joints and being easy to use are important.
